Ellen, Chemo, and a BabyMoon

So It's been a while...and there is lots to catch up on!

First, ELLEN! I'm sure most everyone by now has seen my crazy win on Channel 12! But I felt it warranted some back story for everyone on my blog. It started 2 weeks after I started chemo, you remember the blog where I got my hair cut at Great Clips, well the girl there told me about Ellen's Mother Day Show where she has all first time pregnant moms in her audience and how I should try to go. I was SO EXCITED! That night I went home and put in for tickets for the show. Then a month or so later Ellen had a grand prize contes where you had to enter a baby name everyday and write an essay on what going to the Mother's Day show would mean to you. So with help from my sister, Jackie, I entered every single day for 8 days. Then I waited...and waited...and waited. I even planned a babymoon with my hubby out to California during the time of the show in hopes we would get tickets....days went by right up to the day of the show...and nothing. BUT the day before the Ellen Show taping I received a call from Channel 12 that my sister had written in for the Ellen Day Mother's Contest with them and that I was a finalist. Well as most of you saw, I was SO SHOCKED that I won!
I can't even tell you how grateful I am for Ellen and Channel 12! We did not have anything for Sofie and now we are going to be in GREAT shape with some amazing gifts. I truly am so grateful! I am also so thankful for such an awesome mom and sister who went out of their way to write a beautiful letter to Channel 12, and who have gone above and beyond for me day after day after day.
Then to add to the excitement, some more miracles happened. This cute lady, Cheryl, on the left below bought us a new tv!! and some of the most adorable baby clothes!! I am still overwhelmed with her generosity and what an aweome woman she is!
And Lorrie on the right brought us lots of used baby clothes! Can you believe how wonderful people are?! It is so amazing to see how loving and giving people are and these women are definitely examples to me and make me want to help others and pay it forward....(now I wanna watch that movie...hehe)

Now an update on chemo...and baby Sofie :)

FOUR chemo treatments down!! Woop Woop! I am over half way done! This last treatment was a hard one, making me weaker and sicker than ever before and included a day in the hospital but at least I know if I make it thru the hard days that I get a few decent ones before my next treatment. The only new side affect is neuropathy, which is numbness that has strarted slowly taking over my fingers...basically it feels like the dentist put my fingers to sleep and they are just now waking up...all the time. But it's a small price to pay to get well.
Sofie is doing GREAT!!! We had an ultrasound at the beginning of the week and she is getting so big! She is 1 lb 10 ounces, 56% on the growth chart! I can't believe it! They say that babies of chemo mommies are tiny and struggle with growth but she is such a little fighter and so strong! She moves all the time now too and she is sassy in her pictures, covering about everything we try to get a look at....lol. I love her so much already!

This is some little hairs that have grown on my head lately. Some people call it chemo hair but  I just call it my fuzzies :) They are very soft and thin....someday my new hair will come in and I'll get to cut off these fuzzies but for now they are better than nothing ;)
This is my belly at 25 weeks! Believe it or not, I have only gained 5 pounds this entire pregnancy!  Lucky for me I started with some extra padding that has helped me but the Dr said that the baby is taking everything I eat, and
the chemo is burning up the rest...I have to eat SOOO much just to even have gained those
5 pounds so I get excited any time the scale goes up a little. I have always tried to lose weight....go figure that now I have to eat like crazy just to maintain it!

BABYMOON

A couple weeks ago me,my hubby, and his mom went to California! I was SO excited to get away for a little bit and have some time just with my hubby. First we went to LA to visit Rafa's family. We spent several days with them which was awesome and then we headed off to San Diego for our little time alone. It was an awesome trip filled with lots of fun, laughs, and LOTS of good food! I gained 3 pounds on that trip (Sadly I lost 4 the next week)
For Valentine's Day I had gotten Rafa tickets to a spring training game in Tempe to see the Angels play (they are his favorite). Sadly I was in the hospital when the game came so we were unable to go....SO I tried again and bought him tickets to the REAL game in Anaheim for our anniversary :) It was so fun!
We saw Albert Pujols hit his first home run as an Angel! The highlight of the game!
At the Mormon Batallion! I had always wanted to go there!  Rafa panned for gold!
Our treasure!
We went to the San Diego Zoo! It was SO fun but it wore me out! Luckily , I have a sweetie of a husband who let me stop and rest all day and made sure I was taken care of. We saw almost everything!

The skytrain....a little bit scary but really fun!

These hippos were so cute!  They hair on their head looks just like the fuzzies on mine!!!! haha
I could have stayed and watched these monkeys ALL DAY! They were so cute playing together!
There is my little monkey !
The panda's were a little shy that day!
Rafa's fav....he LOVES these guys!
Cute little baby Giraffe
Another one of my favorites, the koalas....the baby one was so stinkin cute!
One of my favorite places to go in San Diego! I have to go there every time! Extraordinary Desserts!

Don't they look amazing!?
This was the one we chose, Dulce de Leche Cheesecake....It was Heavenly!

A good friend of mine recommended this place, Snooze for breakfast. Pretty sure it is now my Favorite place!

I had the breakfast pot pie...yum! But our server was so nice she brought us a free pineapple upside down cakecake!
It was AMAZING....if we go there again (which we will) I'm only gonna eat the pancakes because it seriously was that good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me :)

So we had an awesome trip! It definitely was a miracle for us to get away and have such a fun time and we got home the day before chemo. I am so grateful for all the blessings in my life, I try so hard not to overlook any of them (though I'm sure I do). I hope that even when I'm healthy and well I will never forget to look for the Everyday Miracles in my life.
I couldn't help but put this picture in....he let me put my little head wrap on him on the way home....this picture makes me happy :)
